Journal entry

Today is Tuesday and on my day off from work I decided to come to school to do my homework for the class. I don't have a computer at my house right now (I'm trying to save up for a car first) so I needed to come to the lab. So far GIS is pretty self explanatory and is kinda fun. I have always liked looking at maps from around the world and now I have the chance to create some. I really enjoyed the Earhart exercises because I am familiar with the story and never realized that the US government spent over 4 million dollars on the search effort. I also never knew that there were two possible flight paths she could have taken.

Exercise 4c

This is a more detailed picture of the routes. As before the top is the planned route and the bottom is the route people belive she actually took.

Excercise 3b

These are Earharts diverging flight paths, the above one is the route she was planning on taking and the lower is the route people believe she actually took.

Exercise 3a

Here is the first map I made

using GIS. It shows Earharts flight path up untill the last place she took off from.
